The Joy of Christmas carol book, known locally as "The Blue Book", is a collection of 90 carols, many not published elsewhere. As well as some well-known carols, many originate from the carols sung in the pubs and other venues of South Yorkshire from the third week of November until Christmas. Each venue and village has its own way of singing and playing the carols. Thanks to "The Blue Book" these are now sung all over the world.
