The first major concert of the year was held at the Venue in Stocksbridge commencing at 7:30pm, and was the practice run for the joint concert in June with Bolsterstone MVC. The guests were Deepcar School Choir. The joint Male Voice Choir began the concert by singing 4 pieces, starting with "A Cole Porter Medley, and finishing with "Love could I only tell thee". Deepcar School Choir then took to the stage to sing 2 pieces from the Musical "Wicked". The joint Choir completed the first half of the concert by singing 5 more pieces - this section included "America Trilogy", and "Take me Home".

After the interval, Deepcar School Choir sang 2 more pieces, this time from the "Lion King". The joint choir then concluded the concert by singing 5 more pieces, commencing with "When the Saints go marching in". This final section also included "Amen", and concluded with "Comrades in Arms" The concert was well received, and the concert on 27th June with the 'Catterick WAGS' choir should be a good event. The musical duties were shared by the two choirs musical teams - Dr Nigel Russell and Steve Vickers from Worrall, and Francis Wells and Lorraine Pearson from Bolsterstone.

The choir visited Signature Loxley Park to provide an evening of musical entertainment for the residents, commencing at 7:30pm. We performed a number of the pieces we are preparing for the upcoming concert at the Victoria Hall in aid of Help for Heroes. In the first half, we sang 7 pieces - these included "Glory and Love to the men of Old", "Morte Criste", and "Gwahoddiad".

After a 15 minute interval, we sang 3 more pieces - including "Stout Hearted men", and concluding with "Rhythm of Life", before the residents were invited to join in a communal sing-song of songs from the War ("Pack up your troubles in your old kit bag" and "We'll meet again" to name but two). The residents and staff enjoyed the show, and look forward to us returning at Christmas Time to entertain them again.
