Members of the Choir travelled to Mansfield for the second practice for the Welsh Association concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 2009.  The MD for the event, Alwyn Humphries took the practice,  and was very pleased with the progress made with the selected pieces (including 2 new pieces in Welsh).  Those who attended found the practice very worthwhile.

30th January 2009

The Choir performed another mini-concert at Loxley Park Care Home to entertain the residents and staff.   We sang a number of pieces from our current repertoire - these are currently being polished ready for our participation in the Welsh Association concert at the Royal Albert Hall in April in the first half.   After a short break,  we sang another couple of pieces from the Albert Hall repertoire,  and then finished with  a communal sing-along of well known songs (We'll meet again to name but one).   We have been invited back again,  so they must have enjoyed it.

Members of the Choir who are taking part in the Welsh Association Massed Choir Concert attended the final rehearsal for this event at Corwen in Denbighshire,  North Wales.  This was the second of the 2 final rehearsals - the first being held last weekend in Neath for the Choirs from the South.   The MD for the event, Alwyn Humphries took us through the pieces, starting with the remaining 6 pieces not covered by the previous 2 rehearsals, and then running through the remaining 12 pieces that we have been rehearsing for some time.   The rehearsal went well,  and we now begin to polish the pieces ready for the concert next month.
