The David Clover Competition for Singers 2010 concluded yesterday, and the winners of two awards provided by the choir were as follows:-
The Michael Peaker Memorial Trophy for Oratorio and Sacred Song aged 18 yrs and under Elizabeth Newell
The Doug Crossland Memorial Trophy for Best Female Singer Rachel Crisp
We hope that both winners will be able to sing with us at one of our concerts later in the year.

The choir sang at the wedding of Helen Casson and James Peter Brammer at St Leonard's Church, Wortley commencing at 1:00pm. We sang 3 pieces before the service ('My luve is like a Red Red Rose', 'Let there be peace on earth' and 'The Rose' ), and 2 during the signing of the registers ('Love Changes Everything' and 'My heart will go on'). We were led by our MD, Dr Nigel Russell and accompanist, Steve Vickers.

The concert due to be held at Myers Grove School on the 16th, and our Annual Christmas Concert at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on the 17th were both cancelled due to the bad weather.
