Concert at Wisewood Methodist Church 17th May 2008

The Choir held a concert at Wisewood Methodist Church on 17th May commencing at 7.30pm.  Unfortunately,  our guest Zoe Bullock was unable to attend due to illness,  but our Accompanist for the concert, Doug Jones, ably filled the void with 6 pieces of music written or arranged for Organ.  The Choir was conducted by our Associate Conductor Stephen Vickers.

We sang 7 pieces from our current repertoire in the first half of the concert, and again included a number of pieces which we are currently learning for the concert at the Royal Albert Hall next year - these being "The Rose" & "An American Trilogy", both arranged by Alwyn Humphries,  and "Onward ye Peoples".  Doug performed a number of pieces specifically written for the Organ in between.  .

After a short 10 minute break,  the choir again performed 2 slots of music from our current repertoire including "She's like the Swallow", and "Coney Island Baby" .  Doug then performed a number of pieces originally written for the Piano,  but adapted for Organ.  We concluded the concert with "A Medley from 'Les Miserables'" arranged by our previous MD, Michael Peaker.
