Spring Concert 6th March 2010
The Choir's Spring concert was held at St Polycarps Church, Malin Bridge. Our guests were Sheffield Harmony Chorus, fresh from winning the Barbershop category at the Hazel Grove Music Festival.
St Polycarps Church - The Venue for the Concert
We began the concert by singing 4 pieces - beginning with "The Song of the Jolly Roger", and ending with "With a Voice of Singing". Our guests then sang 4 pieces which included "California Dreamin'" and "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy". The Choir then completed the first half with another 3 pieces finishing with "Rhythm of Life". After a short interval, our guests sang another 3 pieces, one of which was a medley of 3 songs from the musical "Oliver" . The choir then sang another 4 pieces including "Deus Salutis", which we sing in Welsh, and culminating with "An American Trilogy". Our guests then sang a final 6 pieces, beginning with "Mood Indigo", and finishing with and Irving Berlin number, "Steppin' out with my baby". We then completed an enjoyable evening with Gwahoddiad (in English), and the "Medley from Les Miserables".
