Annual Spring Concert 2009
On Saturday 6th June 2009, the Choir held their Annual Spring Concert at Wisewood Methodist Church commencing at 7:30pm. Our guest was Harriet-Alice Eyley (Winner of both awards donated by the Choir and the overall winner at the David Clover Competition). Harriet was joined by Alan Hutchinson who accompanied her on the piano.
The Concert Venue
The Choir sang a number of pieces (9 in the first half) from the current repertoire, some of which were performed at the Royal Albert Hall in April, including "Y Tangnefeddwyr (The Peacemakers)", which the Choir are performing in Welsh. Harriet performed 4 pieces in the first half of the concert. After a quick interval to draw the raffle, the Choir performed another 6 pieces from the repertoire in 2 slots, and Harriet sang another 3. The choir finished with "The Medley from Les Miserables" after which Harriet did a quick Encore to complete the concert. There is no doubt that this young lady will be a major musical star in years to come.
