The Choir held their Annual Spring Concert at Grenoside Community Centre on 10th May commencing at 7.30pm. Our Guests for the evening's entertainment were The Sheffield Youth Orchestra conducted by our accompanist, Stephen Vickers. The concert was compered by our President, Gerry Kersey.
As is the norm, the Choir performed 2 slots in the first half including 2 pieces we are currently working on in preparation for the massed choir event at the Royal Albert Hall next year - these being "An American Trilogy", and "The Rose" (both arranged by Alwyn Humphries). In between our two slots, our Guests entertained us with music from the Shows and Film.
After the break, the choir again performed 2 slots of music from our current repertoire including "Morte Criste", and in keeping with our guests, "My Heart Will Go" On from the Film "Titanic". Our guests entertained us with another selection of music from the Shows and Film. As is the norm for our concerts, we concluded with the ever popular "Medley from 'Les Miserables'" arranged by our previous MD, Michael Peaker.
