Choir Holiday to Devon (4th-11th June 2011)

Our Hotel

The Cavendish Hotel, Exmouth & our coach

Members of the Choir and Supporters travelled down to Exmouth in Devon on 4th September for a Week's holiday,  which included a Lunchtime recital at Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday 7th,  and a Concert with Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir and guest in Paignton on Thursday 9th.   The description below gives a flavour of the holiday,  and extra detail about the concert / recital.

Saturday -  left Sheffield before 9am,  we arrived at our Hotel in Exmouth at approximately 4pm.  Before and after Dinner,  we had time to explore the locality or just relax.

Sunday was a day to explore Exmouth and the surrounding area.  Some went to Church, some went off exploring, some went to the Local Rotary Club Kite Festival.

Monday, there was a trip to Seaton and Sidmouth.  Rob in the Second Basses was particularly enamoured with Seaton - I think he didn't see the best of it.  There was a nice little walk along the base of the Jurassic cliffs at Sidmouth,  where you could sit and have a drink or an Ice-cream and look at the sea-view.

Tuesday - Exeter and the Lunchtime recital.

Wednesday - Own day again - some went on River / Jurassic Coast cruises.  After Dinner, a number of us went to see the local Musical Society who were performing "Singin' in the Rain".

Thursday - The morning was ours to do whatever we wanted.  Instead of Dinner,  we had lunch in the Hotel,  then travelled by coach to Paignton for the concert in the evening.

Saturday - Left Exmouth at 9am,  arriving back in Sheffield at about 5pm.
