The Choir sang at the Annual Christmas Concert at St Matthias' Church, Stocksbridge commencing at 7.30pm. We shared the stage with Deepcar Brass Band.
The first half of the concert consisted of 2 singing spots by the Choir beginning with 'Joy to the World (arranged by Alan Simmons), and culminating with and item from the Blue Book to the tune 'Stannington'. The band played 4 pieces of Christmas music in between (2 of which were actually arranged by their conductor, Gavin Somerset.

The concert layout in the second half was reversed, with the band playing 2 spots which included well-known Christmas pieces (Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer, and White Christmas to name two). In between, the Choir sang 3 more pieces from the Christmas repertoire. We then joined the band for a number of carols (traditional and local) from the Blue Book before finishing with the traditional finale at this time of year "Stuff the Turkey".
