The final engagement of the Christmas period was our Annual Christmas Concert held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Hillsborough on Friday 19th December 2008. Our guests this year were Deepcar Brass Band conducted by Gavin Somerset.
After the introductions, the concert began with the Choir singing 4 pieces from the Christmas repertoire culminating with "Let there be peace on Earth". The band then played 4 pieces concluding with the appropriately named "Christmas Piece". The choir then performed a further 4 pieces to conclude the first half of the concert.

The second half of the concert began with a reading by 2 church members aided and abetted by 3 members of the Choir wearing scarves and hats normally seen further down the road. The band then performed 4 more pieces of Christmas music including "Mary's Boy Child". The choir then sang 3 more pieces from the Christmas repertoire, culminating with "A Medley of Christmas Carols" before the band played their final 3 pieces finishing with "Christmas Swingalong". The audience then got in on the act, with a number of carols (Local and Traditional) from the Blue Book. After the closing presentation, which included a visit from Father Christmas no less, the Choir concluded the concert with "Stuff the Turkey" - complete with flying dog (a stuffed toy). With that, the choir's activities for the year were completed.
