Autumn Concert 16th October 2009
The Choir held their Annual Autumn Concert at Christ Church, Stannington. Our guests were the Dearne Valley Sax Quartet.
The Ticket Office
The concert started at 7:30, with the Choir performing 5 pieces from the current repertoire beginning with 'With a voice of singing' and culminating with 'Rhythm of Life'. Our guests then entertained us with 4 pieces, and we finished the first half of the concert with a further 4 pieces culminating with the Welsh Piece 'Y Tangnefeddwyr'
After the interval, the choir performed 2 more items from our repertoire - 'Sound an Alarm' and 'Kings of Swing'. Our guests then performed another 3 pieces, which culminated with an amusing piece based on the William Tell overture 'Lone Ranger goes Sax Mad'. The choir then concluded the concert in the traditional way, by singing the 'Medley from Les Miserables'
