The Choir held the Annual Autumn Concert on Saturday, 24th September at Wadsley Church.  We were led by our MD, Dr Nigel Russell,  and accompanied by Steve Vickers.  The concert was compered by Gerry Kersey,  and our Guest was Abigail Broughton, who won this year's Doug Crossland Shield.

After the interval,  the Choir sang another 2 sections,  this time containing 6 pieces.  In the first section,  we sang 4 pieces, including 'Softly as I leave you' and 'Morte Criste'.  Abigail then sang another 5 pieces - these were 'Nella Fantasia' by Ennio Morricone, 'Summer Time' by George Gershwin, 'Think of Me' from The Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber, 'And this is My Beloved' from Kismet by Borodin,  and 'Art is calling for me' from the Enchantress by Victor Herbert. The choir then concluded the concert by singing 'The Hippopotamus Song' by Flanders and Swann, and finishing with the old favourite 'Medley from Les Miserables'.   I would add that we have seen another star of the future
